This drawing I made about the surreality of living with an overlap of rare, invisible autoimmune diseases. The concept of having to “shield” is all too familiar to me regardless of lockdown. I find that making drawings which depict my invisible sensory symptoms helps me to visualise and process them better. Some of my diseases are so rare you may have to look them up. The rarity is part of the suffering and I draw because I want to raise awareness for rare diseases like mine.
